The Antrim County High Tea for Breast Cancer Prevention is an all-volunteer grass roots organization. Antrim County has the highest death rate from breast cancer in the state of Michigan, the residents are not diagnosed with more breast cancer but tend to seek treatment later. The High Tea’s mission is to serve individuals in Antrim County who are not otherwise covered by public or private medical programs or whose personal financial capability would discourage preventative testing. Since 2004, over $200,000 has been raised to assist women in need. The group has been providing education, outreach and assisting cancer patients with passion and compassion.
