Luma Health - Patient Communication

Patient communication changes begin October 1

Beginning October 1, Bellaire & East Jordan Family Health Centers will transition to a new patient communication system powered by Luma Health.

If you currently receive appointment reminders or complete information before your visit by text or email, much of the process will remain familiar. You may simply notice that the messages, links and screens look different.

What is changing?

Beginning October 1, patient communications and electronic pre-visit registration will transition from Clearwave to Luma Health.

You may receive texts or emails related to your upcoming appointment that allow you to review or complete requested information before you arrive.

The Clearwave check-in kiosks currently located at our Bellaire and East Jordan Health Centers will also be removed.

What is staying the same?

You will still be able to complete many pre-appointment steps electronically before your visit.

Depending on your appointment, you may receive a request to confirm your appointment, review or update information, complete registration forms, or provide insurance information.

Luma’s patient materials are designed around these types of actionable reminders and electronic intake tasks.

Luma Health FAQs

What happens when I arrive?

Even when you complete information before your appointment, please continue to check in with our team when you arrive.

With the removal of the Clearwave kiosks, our staff will assist with anything that still needs to be completed.

What if I can't complete the information electronically?

That’s okay.

If you do not use text or email, do not have a smartphone, or need help completing your information, our staff will assist you.

How will I know the message is really from the Health Center?

Beginning October 1, messages from Bellaire & East Jordan Family Health Centers may indicate that they are powered by Luma Health.

Messages may come from 231-222-2319.

Will the Health Center use Luma for other messages?

Yes. Over time, you may also receive helpful Health Center messages reminding you about recommended care, such as scheduling an appointment or completing a health-related follow-up.

These messages are another way our care teams can help patients stay connected with their health between visits.

Questions?

If you receive a message and are unsure whether it came from Bellaire & East Jordan Family Health Centers, please contact us.

The Bellaire and East Jordan Family Health Center is experiencing issues with our internet systems. This has also impacted our East Jordan location phone systems. We are working to resolve this issue with Charter. Thank you for your patience.

The Patient Portal will be unavailable October 18-20, 2024 due to scheduled maintenance. We apologize for the inconvenience.
