Chairperson
Janelle Kassien is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in the field of mental health. She is a passionate advocate for individuals with disabilities and has dedicated her career to helping them achieve their full potential.
Janelle holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Michigan State University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with minors in Philosophy and Business from Calvin University. She is currently a Research Assessment Specialist at Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services where she collects data on multiple studies and provides risk assessments for vulnerable adults who have volunteered to be involved in human research projects regarding mental health conditions.
Janelle has also served as the Intake Supports Coordinator at North Country CMH, an International and Domestic Adoption Specialist at Bethany Christian Services, and a Home Supervisor for an Adult Foster Care Home at Summertree Residential Centers, Inc. Throughout her career, Janelle has demonstrated a commitment to serving vulnerable populations. As an intern she co-facilitated support groups for domestic violence offenders and victims, provided oversight and assisted with licensing of children’s foster care homes, and provided protective services.
Janelle’s extensive experience and expertise in the field of mental health make her a valuable asset to any organization. She is a strong leader with a proven track record of success. She is also a committed advocate for social justice and is passionate about making a difference in the lives of others.
In her free time, Janelle enjoys reading, playing tennis, kayaking, taking walks in nature, and all things musical.
