The Bellaire and East Jordan Family Health Centers proudly recognized Lisa Clavier and Kiersten’s Ride as the 2026 Community Health Champion for their commitment to suicide prevention, education, and support throughout Northern Michigan.
The Community Health Champion Award is presented by the East Jordan Family Health Center Board of Directors and recognizes individuals and organizations that make a meaningful difference in the health and well-being of the communities served by the Health Center.
Founded in memory of Clavier’s 17-year-old daughter, Kiersten, who died by suicide, Kiersten’s Ride has grown into a nonprofit that brings help, hope and healing through suicide-prevention programs across Northern Lower Michigan.
“Lisa has taken an experience of profound personal loss and created something that continues to bring hope and practical help to others,” said Cynthia Pepin, Behavioral Health Director. “Her work reminds us that community health extends far beyond the walls of a medical office. Lisa and Kiersten’s Ride are helping create healthier and safer communities throughout Northern Michigan.”
Lisa and Kiersten’s Ride were recognized during the Kiersten’s Ride Suicide Prevention Conference on October 6 at Castle Farms in Charlevoix and again during the East Jordan State of the Community event on October 20 at East Jordan Public Schools.
The East Jordan Family Health Center Board of Directors established the Community Health Champion Award in 2006.
