WISEWOMAN

Every Woman. Every Year. The Michigan BCCCNP can help an eligible woman, aged 40-64*, get breast and cervical screening services yearly whether she has insurance or not. We provide navigation services to help her receive the screening, follow-up care for an abnormal test result, and/or treatment if a breast or cervical cancer is diagnosed.

WISEWOMAN

This programs offers eligible women an opportunity to improve their health and well-being. Health coaches are available to help set small steps toward healthier lifestyles.

The Well Integrated Screening and Evaluation for Women Across the Nation (WISEWOMAN) program is for women who are age 40-64 and are referred from the BCCCNP program, and gives them the opportunity to evaluate their cholesterol, blood sugar, blood pressure, and weight. It is designed to screen women and identify risk factors for heart disease, stroke and diabetes. The focus is on blood pressure control, nutrition, physical activity, tobacco cessation, weight control and stress management. The WISEWOMAN vision is that every woman has the opportunity to improve her health and well-being and that of her community. Health coaches are available to assist with small-steps toward health improvement.
