East Jordan and Bellaire Family Health Centers Adapt to Protect Patients and Staff.
Across the country, healthcare providers are adapting patient care to help better protect those at risk during the COVID-19 outbreak. The East Jordan and Bellaire Family Health Centers are rescheduling routine visits and strongly suggesting telephone consultations for patients. Telephone consults reduce exposure to the virus, help keep our staff safer, help with social distancing, have shorter wait times, and reduce travel time and costs. Your provider will be your best resource for determining your scheduling needs. If you feel that you are having a health emergency, please call 911 for the quickest assistance.
The East Jordan and Bellaire Family Health Centers are also aware that some workers including DOT drivers will be affected by this change to telephone consultations. The USDOT has provided relief to allow essential work to continue without routine physicals and exams by extending out the need for the DOT medical examination until June 30, 2020. Please call your employer or provider for more information.
The East Jordan Family Health Center is working continuously to support our community during this time. If you have questions regarding the Coronavirus, visit our website at ejfhc.org for up to date information along with additional services provided at both the Bellaire and East Jordan locations. Working together, we can limit the impact of the virus on our community.
Everyone can help prevent the spread of coronavirus and other infectious diseases by practicing everyday prevention including frequent hand washing for at least 20 seconds, staying home when sick, covering coughs and sneezes with the crock of the elbow, and not touching the eyes, mouth or the nose.
