East Jordan Family Health Center provides continuum of care for patients using new technologies.
The East Jordan Family Health Center continues to work daily to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and are proud of the hard work that our staff has put into protecting our community and developing a plan for future care.
As the Stay Home, Stay Safe orders continues, we have seen signs that our community efforts to flatten the curve is working. The Health Department of Northwest Michigan’s Medical Director, Dr. Josh Meyerson, reminds residents that “part of flattening the curve means stretching out the length of time we may be dealing with COVID-19 to ensure that our communities do not see an unmanageable surge on our hospital and healthcare resources like we have seen in other areas. Through all our efforts to stay at home we all can help to mitigate the impact of disease on our community, especially our most vulnerable members.”
Both East Jordan and Bellaire Health Centers have some capacity for testing. We are following the CDC and MDHHS Testing Protocols regarding priority testing with the top priorities being health care workers with symptoms and high-risk patients. If you believe you may have been exposed and/or are showing symptoms, please contact the health center to determine your next steps. We have included a Coronavirus “Self-Checker” and a “Test Site Finder” on our website to help you find more information regarding access to testing. Please note, that though the Health Center is not listed on the Health Department “Test Site Finder,” we have testing available at both our East Jordan and Bellaire locations.
East Jordan & Bellaire Family Health Centers remind patients it is important to continue your existing healthcare plan with your provider. We also understand the concerns our patients may feel regarding in-person appointments. The health center is implementing a Telehealth program to allow access to your provider within the comfort of your home. In the coming weeks, the center will be initiating Phase 1 of our Telehealth program, which will be similar to our current telephone appointments. As the program develops, we hope to add audio/ visual capability, and connections to specialty care.
The Health Center also continue to see patients in our office when necessary, including newborn and well-baby visits, and those with other conditions requiring in person care. As a reminder, please contact the health center to discuss the need to be seen in person, as we continue to consider our responsibility to protect you and our staff from COVID-19.
If you have questions regarding your care or care plan, contact our office to discuss your upcoming appointments and medication refills with the staff or provider.
